though I am primarily a production and mix engineer, I am inspired by the music itself. My own albums are in essence experiments with sound against my songwriting style, and I aim to capture emotion through each and every sonic choice.
I recently graduated from SUNY Purchase’s music conservatory, which was four intensive years of spending all day every day in studio either recording, producing, or mixing music. I fell in love with the process of understanding someone else’s vision and helping them execute it to the best of my ability. When someone comes to me, even for a mix, understanding what world they’re living in and what imagery the music conjures is the most important part of me delivering something that we can both be proud of.
I began making music in my bedroom, and have kept that energy throughout my career. It’s an intimate thing to show someone your work, especially when it isn’t finished. Wether I’m working from my home studio or a room with a full analog console, I like to keep the playful quality of the music alive.
